The reviews for this place were almost suspiciously too good when I was booking - but when you meet the hosts (and their dog Paddy), see the room, the location and enjoy the breakfast, you'll also be leaving a five star review. Becky and Steve are genuine, lovely people who couldn't have been more generous and clearly care about their guests. A top-tier B&B experience. If you're looking at staying somewhere in Dartmoor, stay here. We really enjoyed our stay.

Becky and Steve are the friendliest, kindest B&B hosts you could ever hope to meet. My daughter and I instantly felt at home at Tawburn House and were sad to leave. Paddy is adorable and great fun to play with in the immaculate garden. Steve's cooking is top notch and Becky's banter is brilliant! I highly recommend this B&B and will most certainly stay there again. The service we received was above and beyond anything we've experienced before.

We have just returned from a fabulous stay here. Can’t speak highly enough about this place, Steve and Becky were absolutely top class hosts. Breakfast delicious, rooms lovely and the service was top notch! Our two dogs had a lovely stay too and we’re made to feel very welcome. Definitely recommend!!

I’ve stayed in many different accommodations and Tawburn house is by far the best B&B I’ve visited, it’s closer to a 5* hotel. Stayed here after 2 nights camping and what a treat it was, from start to finish the experience was perfect. Give credit where credits due, Steve and Becky are amazing hosts. There’s no request too big or too small that they can’t handle. The attention to detail is incredible, from being greeted with homemade scones on arrival, to the delicious breakfast menu available, robes and slippers for use in the amazing hot tub/ sauna and brilliant recommendations from Steve who knows the area like the back of his hand. We had a very special stay here and can’t recommend it enough. A friendly atmosphere, modern decor and hard working hosts qualifies this for a 10/10 stay. I’m already looking forward to returning! My partner has just finished University and to celebrate her graduating we decided to spend a couple of nights away at Tawburn House to do some walking on the moors and relax a bit in the evening. One of the main reasons we chose Tawburn House was because of the good reviews and fact we could take our dog Poppy! From the moment we stepped into Tawburn House we were made to feel so welcome, having been greeted by Steve we were shown to our room with some fresh scones, jam and clotted cream. Nothing seemed to be too much for Steve and Becky who were so accommodating the whole time, the breakfast was lovely with a good selection from Full English to lighter breakfasts, freshly made in the morning. We didn't know the area well or have much of a plan on where we would walk however Steve was on hand with excellent local knowledge to recommend some lovely walks around this beautiful area. Even our dog Poppy was made to feel really welcome the whole time by Steve, Becky and even Paddy their dog who had great fun playing with Poppy. I have already recommended Tawburn House to family members and we can't wait to hopefully return again soon.

Possibly one of the best B&B we've ever stayed in! Becky and Steve are a delight and you are made welcome from the outset, cream scones for the room a real winner. The rooms are exquisite, high end and so comfort. The separate luxury bathroom is a joy to unwind in and bathrobes and slippers are provided. Even our dog was spoilt with a breakfast sausage treat. The breakfasts are amazing, we had the veggie version and didn't require any lunch as a consequence. Nothing is too small for Becky and Steve to help with, genuinely good people and lots of great tips of things to do, see and eat locally. We will definitely be going back at some point. So we did go back July 2023 and we loved it just as much again, Becky, Steve and Paddy are fabulous as ever, very welcoming with excellent recommendations of the area. Slept like a baby yet again, sp peaceful.

We stayed here on our way down to Cornwall. Steve and Becky were so welcoming and everything was great. The B&B was spotless and service was perfect. Even though we didn't use it, the garden and hot tub looked lovely. The breakfast was really good and plentiful. We had the full English and the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs and they were both really tasty and set us up for our day! Would recommend this place to anyone, especially for exploring the moor - which you can get to just across the road. Will definitely be coming back.
